Veridi Technologies, a startup in The Hague has recently been awarded with 2.5 million euros from the EIC Accelerator grant from the European Union. This funding will contribute to the company’s mission of making soil analysis more accessible, scalable and standardized, while addressing the challenge of soil degradation, as this issue puts food security at risk.
The grant allows the company to hire key engineers and scientists to accelerate the upscaling of our imaging platform and algorithms for soil biodiversity analysis. This will also help Veridi Technologies to finance and ship machines which are in high demand from affiliated partners.
The startup company works with a system that uses a camera to analyze soil samples and delivers over 90% accuracy, while reducing costs by 50%. This platform ensures affordability and flexibility, as it is provided for free to customers, with a pay-per-use model.
Veridi Technologies is tackling a € 50 billion/year soil degradation problem for the EU. This exceptional European Innovation Council recognition positions Veridi Technologies as a key enabler of the upcoming EU Soil Monitoring Law, set to take effect in 2028. The law will require standardized soil health assessments and improvement plans on a continental scale, which Veridi’s technology is uniquely equipped to support.
