The Seaweed Hotel Room at Rabobank’s regional head office shows products of more than fifteen entrepreneurs who have turned the power and possibilities of seaweed in everyday products and applied in interiors, cosmetics, food & beverages and textiles.
Eat, sleep and live among seaweed
The Seaweed Hotel Room brings together a diverse group of 15 pioneering partners, each demonstrating how seaweed can be seamlessly integrated into everyday living. From interiors to personal care and food, the space showcases innovation at every level: modular panels, tables and nightstands by SeaWood - BlueBlocks transform seaweed into durable design materials, while soft furnishings such as carpets, runners and bedding by Zeefier highlight its textile potential. Rest is supported by natural beds and mattresses from COCO-MAT, complemented by seaweed-based skincare from ZJÍ.
Broader applications are presented by Origin by Ocean, which develops circular solutions across cosmetics, food and textiles, alongside edible innovations such as seaweed-infused tea and chocolate from Neptune elements and plant-based ‘sea caviar’ by Ancrée. Design studio Klarenbeek & Dros contributes biobased vases and cups, while NEAP explores seaweed in beverages through soda and hard seltzers. Everyday essentials are reimagined through seaweed socks by Forebel X North Sea Farmers or sustainable feminine hygiene products by Vyld.
Together, these partners illustrate a growing ecosystem in which seaweed is not only a sustainable resource, but a versatile foundation for the way we eat, sleep and live.
